am so disapointed, 0-60 is 8.7, and top speed of 125mph.
Basicly 9seconds, which isnt much slower than a frigin GT, might not get an RS now, totaly gutted on the engine figures, **** torque also! I wunder, what ktecs 0-60 time is on ther tuned GT... Myt b worth going down tht root, and having to joy of customizing a car, either that or get a Grande punto 1.4 t-jet and remaping that! Or even a C2 VTS!!

i would still get the rs and just remap and tune it up a bit... im sure you would be able to get alot mor power from it, infact i wouldnt be suprised if you could stick a turbo in the didy engine bay..

its not all about the 0-60 time your buying into the whole renaultsport package with its improvements particularly the handling.....
However i do agree with you its not fantastic, an old punto gt is faster than it!
Interesting to see how a tuned gt compares

I know it's not all about the time, but the looks make up for it ;D, imo that is quite poor! Hehe! I've just emailed K-Tec to try and find out their 0-60 time!! Should be interesting as this is the route i'm going down!!

my gt has done 122mph
To be honest, 0-60 times are pretty meaningless in usual driving. It's the 30-50 & 50-70 times you need to be comparing.

in my old Twingo, I used to get from 0-50 in a matter seconds, just going around town.
...the speedo was in kilometres per hour :)

I've heard that the top speed for an extreme is 96, surely this is wrong as I got 100 out of my old C2 and it was only a 1.1 and a mate of mine had the same C2 1.1 and he's also had a 100 out of his.
Does this seem right for an extreme to only be able to do 96mph? ???
I'm gonna go out tonight and try get over 96 out of my Extreme lol ;D

tbh m8, i really dont think it would be advisable to tune the 133-RS 1.6 engine, becuase renault have tunned it alot themself and its ment to be really highly-strung, i think it would pop if anything more was done to it, either that or very un-reliable :S...

K-Tec have just got back to me, no official results yet, going on a rolling road in the next few weeks so will know for deffo! But they said, "with the re-map, exhaust system and induction kit their GT will be up with the RS in terms of performance"!
Hmmm...spend £1k (mods, insurance) on K-Tec mods or spend £3k (car, extra running costs, insurance) on the RS?! Another point the RS don't come in Blaze ::) :D! I know it's also the RS heritage your buying into and what not, but me personally, can't justify the extra spendage!!

ay up guys, kinda off topic, but earlier posted a post saying about the 96mph top seed of an extreme, I went out tonight and got 98mph (then got scared so slowed down lol) so extremes don't just do 96mph 8) lol not that I'm ever gonna need that sort of speed again, but hey :) thought I'd give it a try lol, cause I'm kinda cool like that 8) lol ;D

I was on a bout a 2 miles of straight road, a dual carriageway on the way to a place called Rugeley, took me ages to get to that speed though lol still got it though ;) lol
If you're taking the reading off your speedo, then they are calibrated to read slightly higher than the actual speed, so you probably weren't doing 98mph.
Not that I'm encouraging that sort of speed, but the best way to test it is with the speed reading on a sat nav unit which is a bit more accurate.

i can see the police staking out that road now, not the best thing to be bragging about on the internet really

lol, good for you!! ;D Everyone should get the chance to push their car to the max at least once, what the point of them being able to go 70+ if you never go faster.
Plus you've proved that the offical figs are a load of crap and you can go much faster.
I'd like to see some take a GT 117+ and take a pic of the speedo, probibly with someone with them though, to take the thrill and the picture and all that. Maybe I'm just a bit crazy.

Not sure about that as gps is only accurate to around 2-3 ft at best.

I know I'm going against the grain, but this is a forum and this is how I feel...
40 miles per hour:

I just don't understand this need to push the speed limits :(

whilst i have my fun with the gt and most of my previous cars (3 type-r's and s type jags for example) i have slowed down a lot now i've past the boy racer stage of my life, i tend to find the safety of my wife and 4 year old son is a lot more important than trying to get a couple of cars ahead in the traffic!!
i also rely on my licence for work and if i lose it for speeding or dangerous driving then how would i pay the bills and keep a roof over my family's head, i've even taken all the performance mods off the car over the last few weeks (apart from the superchip) as i really cant be bothered with them at the moment, rather go for subtle styling mods then go back to them at a later date maybe (as i'm liking the look of the remus exhaust!)
saying that after it was chipped they took it out on test and got 100+mph out of it on a private strip

Nah theres no cameras and it just a road with two lanes on either side, not sure if its a dual carrige way, but it looks like one :-\ lol
And I wasn't bragging, I was trying to prove a point that the figures for an extreme are obv not right.
And I've already got points on my licence and it hasn't slowed me down, so if I'm gonna crash or get caught again, I might as well do it in style I have nothing to lose, and like they say, live everyday to the fullest, thats what I'm doin. lol
Also I get pulled every other night as I have points, so if they do start watching that road (not that I ever use it, I just know its there and how long it is) then it won't bother me cause I'm so used to being pulled over, even when I'm doing the speed limit or slower, so I can't win with them :(

Hi there!! My GT with only a simota conic air filter and a self-made exhaust, 0-100km/h 8seconds... imagine with a little bit more turbo pressure or other simple tunes.... And top speed 125mph, same as RS.... my personal opinion, GT can make better than RS... :o
Now we're back on this topic, I just thought I'd mention my disappointment at not being able to hit my GTs top speed of 117, couldn't get anymore than 116 :(
Drive an RS Cup, then realise the 0-60 speed does not matter one bit.

Thing is my 107 was supposed to do 0-60 in 13.8 but me and several others knocked a second and a bit of when using a g-tech, I reckon we the RS can do it a lot faster then that

I agree with this, the Renault Sport chassis and suspension is just as fun as the feisty engine. Its hard to explain without driving one!!

On paper theres not a massive difference between the GT and RS, however they feel completely different out on the road. From the power delivery to chassis setup they differ.
I personally think the GT is more fun around the town, but put the RS on a track and it will shine! ;D

But what do you drive me on? Roads or track lol?
I prefer my GT abnd always will the fact of it was cheaper, its cheaper to run, cheaper to insure, cheaper to tax and best of all not much slower bhp wise from the RS!

yeah certainly is not saying i would say no to an RS just the extra money all adds up and isnt exactly a sort of power increase that cant be gained fromt eh GT!

LOL That speed is easily reached by my GT! I was going 195 Kph (120ish) on my way to Hamburg.. granted it was on a nice and level road umm Autobahn... next weekend I'm heading to my Grandparents where there is a stretch of "No speed limit" road Autobahn... I'll have my gf take a pic to prove it.... 8)
Change is to MPH before you do that stretch

Change is to MPH before you do that stretch
Umm I can't.. or at least I dont know how...
Just plug the kph into an online converter. Search google for convert-me. It's a great online tool!
All you have to do is turn the ignition to position 1 and then hold down the button on the end of the stalk on the right until it flashes MPH then let go and your done!!
Well thats how I can change mine to KPH!!

Respect points will be given if you do actually do this flv1333.
Do people think if I filled up with some high octane Shell V-Power Super Unleaded I'd be able to push my GT a bit higher then 116?
when I get it back on the road that is.

re-mapping the rs wouldnt have much effect cus its a normally aspirated lump. so youd see 3 maybe 4 bhp difference. only reason you see a major difference in the gt is because its got a turbo.
in fairness the gt has just as much potential as the RS. altho the rs looks better. and youll have to work the RS a lot harder to get as much out of it.
my opinion is u might aswell get a gt n have a tinker. cus u can have the same kinda power output as the rs anywho. for less money.
