It has a switch under the bonet to make the engine sound more sporty! :o Thats mad!

I think this car will cost about £12,000 brand new, which is a fair amout of money for the size of the car. Heres a few more spec details on it....

Sounds ok, but not really that exciting.still puts it a little below its main rival the 500 arbath. with by all indications will be cheaper and more poweful

Think they should have went a with a 1.4 with a uprated turbo to bring it more in line with the arbath

For the age market renault are going for, putting a 1.6 in is a good idea for insurance. Soon as the word Turbo comes into an insurance company, they hike the price up god knows how much.

The fiat 500 arbath will cost £13,000 but i cannot see the renault costing that much as the clio 197 cup costs just £15,000. If renault price the twingo at £11,995 then it would be very appeling to young people like myself.

they look a bit stuck on, if you know what i mean... still though, i think i'd be chuffed if i had one in red haha. i wish the RS looked a bit more like the concept, i'd love to be able to make my extreme look like the concept...

So any news yet on when this is going to be out, how much it is going to be selling for and whether is comes in the full range of colours as I so want an Orange one!

They should be coming out towards the end of this year. Not sure on a price yet, but I'd imagine £13-14k.

As far as I'm aware, the colours it will be available in are:

Extreme Blue
Altica Grey
Capsicum Red
Pearl Black
Mercury

Altica Grey is a pearly colour, similar to Renaults Moondust that was offered a few years ago on the Laguna's. All of the other colours are available on the current Twingo range.

doesnt seem like a bad price really, fuel consumption must be a bit of a killer compared to an extreme or a gt tho

Now that would be an interesting prospect if it is going to come in at that sort of price - might even stop me going for the GT to get the Orange and have to go for the Blue RS one with cup alloys!

The price in France has been announced at €15,601 (£12,276 at todays exchange rate). Bearing in mind the price of the GT there is €14,000 (£11,018), then the RS over here will probably be in the £11-£12,000 price range you mentioned.

I've just seen the french press release. A twingo RS with cup option (€450), metalic paint (€340), climate (€300) and a few other options is going to end up looking quite expensive.

Not really a question that anyone can answer as it depends on your own circumstances and insurance history. Try one of the comparison sites, assuming they've got the RS listed.

I asked Renault what Insurance Group the RS will be and they say it wont be released until September when the cars will actually be on the road. The Extreme is insurance group 2, Dynamique 3 and GT 5 but as the RS doesnt have a great deal more HP than the GT I should think the insurance group will be 7 or 8.

You probably wont be able to get an insurance quote until September as Insurance quotes are based mainly on the group rating of the vehicle
