"Renault is to increase production of its Twingo and Clio Campus models, the company announced today.
The move follows strong sales of both the Renault Twingo, which was the second best selling car in France in February, and the Clio Campus, a midly restyled version of the previous-generation Clio.
The decision will mean the creation of 400 jobs, as production of the Renault Clio Campus will switch from Renault’s [Revoz] Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia to the company’s Flins factory west of Paris.
The excess capacity at Novo Mesto will allow Renault to increase production of the Twingo, while Flins will produce around 8000 Clio Campus models between June and October."

Yeah, gotta love that Clio Campus.
Join the new Clio Campus OC coming to an interweb near you.
Good news on more Twingos too, mayhaps people won't have such long delivery waits now, and more members!! Might finally get some support for some mods - top-adjustable coillies I tell thee!!
I thought Campus production had already ended :-\ doesn't seem to be available here since the Freeway arrived.
Nice to see the Twingo is a big seller somewhere though :D
Croes told BBC Radio 4's World at One show that she was "highly surprised" at Renault's decision and that, if it meant the moving of jobs from Slovenia to France, it could contravene EU rules.
Both Renault and the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, denied that the news would mean job losses for Slovenia.
Renault said that it took the decision because the Novo Mesto plant was running at capacity, while Sarkozy said: "This is not about cutting jobs in Slovenia. It doesn't take a single job from our Slovenian friends and it increases jobs for Flins."
Seeming a little controversial there, especially as I'd assume they'd want to produce the Campus as cheaply as possible, and France wouldn't be the place to do this. Unless they're gaining some spare capacity in France as other models are probably not selling so well.
The only model made at the Flins factory is the Clio, since production ended of the Twingo Classic in 2007. However, according to the Renault Atlas document, there are already Clio II's being manufactured there, as well as Clio III's
Surprised to see the Clio Campus is continuing in production, though. I was under the impression that the Dacia Sandero would, in a way, be replacing it.

It might be Paul, at a starting price of 5900 euros for a 1.4 LPG model!

It's only €5900 thanks to the €2000 co2 bonus and €1000 back if you trade in a car over eight years old.
Cheapest Campus is €11,550 with no bonus, yet they still sold more Campus's then Sandero's last year.
Mind you, Peugeot are still producing the 206 (now with a facelift) and Fiat are still selling the old Punto.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Twingo was the second best selling car in France at the moment. Anyone know what's in pole position?

Doesn't tell me what was first though? I think it's good news for Renault nonetheless.
edit> Peugeot 207 (14 240) Renault Mégane (10 061) Twingo (9 376) :-\
Not only is the Clio Campus continuing in production, but it's been given a minor facelift.

No official pics, but there's a sketch of the new front end in the appendix 1 file in the link.
Basically the body coloured metalwork around the front badge has been removed, and the front bumper has been revised.

...and the addition of Twingo wing mirrors!
How many facelifts has the Mk2 had now?? :D
::) In answer to my own question, I felt the need to create this ;D

12 years of Clio 2 and still going strong, will it ever die?!
Will we get a RHD 2009 model?

For as long as sales are still strong - which apparently they are - then Renault are still going to make it.
As for RHD, it's only a minor facelift, so I can't see any reason why RHD isn't possible, but it depends whether sales in the UK make it viable.

The Campus hasn't been listed on renault.co.uk since the introduction of the Freeway :-\
Nor is it listed on any other of the RHD countries, Renault websites I've checked.
I've also noticed it's gained the Twingo gearstick...

The day Renault relocated the number to the bumper instead of the boot, is the day i kinda went off the Clio, just thinks it doesn't look right in the bumper :-\ :-[
Do like however what they have done to the front and the fog lights, and liking the looks of those seats, got anymore pics of the interior!?!
Looks quite tidy for a 10 year old shape!! Must still be selling well
